Brake pads....help required!

Featured Replies

Good afternoon Briskodians!!!

I've recently purchased new grooved and drilled discs all round but before I fit them I'm looking at getting performance pads to complement them so to improve the stopping power over standard. I'm aware of Mintex, EBC and Ferodo but can anyone suggest or recommend any others through experience that are good and that do not cost silly money?

Is it worth paying a premium for the likes of Mintex, EBC or Ferodo?

Matt.

It not the name, but the grade which matters, and matching that to the use it will be put to.

My combi has the OEM Padgid pads which were in the calipers when I bought the bigger brake upgrade from a new but wrecked Sirroco. They work well, only a bit of dust, but wearing well as are the discs, they stop well, no fade when making good progress across the Alps with a load, which is why I bought them.

I can recommend ebc redstuff as they are reasonably priced too, about £60 a set for the fronts

I've just fitted EBC redstuff pads and they are great, but they do squeal a lot when wearing in... I've done 700 miles on these ones and they still make a noise sometimes. Getting better though :).
