iPod control on Columbus

Featured Replies

I have a 2012 L&K and there doesn't seem to be a lot of control over the iPod. I can scroll through all 4000 tracks to find one, or leave it on random. There doesn't seem to be an option for albums/artists. I've put some stuff on HDD using folders and the same using SD cards so I could manage without the iPod - but it's annoying.

Is it me or the Columbus?

If you have MDI you can scroll through by album, artist, song, etc. from the Columbus itself. Not being rude, but have you read the manual to see how to navigate around the MDI controls?

If you have MDI and all you see is a long list of track names, then something is not set up correctly.

You can also select audio books, podcasts, etc.

If you have a 3.5mm AUX connector then you are 'pushing' music from the iPod itself and have no control from the Columbus.

When putting music onto HD or SD card, make use of folders and sub folders to make it easier to locate (e.g. A-E > David Bowie > Greatest Hits > Heroes.mp3).

It is MDI and I will now read the manual :-}

Thanks

It's not the most obvious system of controls, but its easy to use when you know how (just lots of 'up' pushes).

Manual fairly unhelpful so I disconnected the iPod and reconnected. Eventually discovered the pressing the MDI button gave me the options I've spent hours looking for!

The 'hard' media button then the 'soft' MDI button...

Then use the 'soft' up button in the top left to (funnily enough) go up a level in the file / folder structure or iPod.
