Over the weekend I'll be (hopefully) performing a set of updates to the site, some minor, some possibly major!

This is an upgrade to fix issues encountered in operating the site. There will be periods of time where the site is offline; has to be to lock the db during changes.

There will be a number of changes to the interface, these are set upon us by the authors of the forum software. The only option to prevent this is to write our own forums software...

Changes will be visible in things like the posts editor which is being replaced.

New features like, best answer, or flagging a question as unanswered.

As this is a potentially large upgrade there are pages of release notes, on the other side we'll update you and keep our eyes peeled for issues.

There will undoubtedly be browser caching issues, requiring forced clearing.

Additional challenges are a database conversion, this is penciled but not confirmed, it's potentially a very long process!

As always this is a heads up, events in real life may take over to prevent or abort.

Cheers,

Colin.

See you on the otherside

Stage 1 is complete, this was a general update of support applications, like support, store, chat, gallery etc.

Stage2 is the main site, but taking a moment first, will commence around 16:30/17:00

SWMBO's happy that the site's down for some reason

Content Spy installed, limited release while I monitor.
