team dynamic alloys

Featured Replies

hi all i got some after market alloys which are multi fit, but the problem i am having is with the bolts, i got some from my local parts shop, they are m14x1.5 but have trouble putting them on they are a very tight fit, and when i took them back out some of the threads were rounded, any other solutions i dont want to damage the threads on my octy. thanks

Sounds like you might need "tuning bolts" which have smaller diameter heads than the OE VAG ones. They're also likely to be conical rather than radiused.

Which wheels are they?

I think that you can order from TD's eBay shop which I'm sure is "magikwheels" given their West Brom location.

Imagine a Torx bolt or an Allen bolt as used in IKEA furniture. Because the torque is applied internally, the bolt head can fit within a narrower hole as is needed when there are 8-10 on a multi-fitment wheel.

You can get locking ones too, but the TD fitting kit should have the right bolts, an adapter and some 57.1mm spigot rings.

thank you jeeves, but i did buy the tuning bolts and the thread gets knackered after you take them off as i said they are m14x1.5x28mm tuning bolts, could the spigot be causing the problem. And cant find the td fitting kit on ebay.

The spigot ring serves to centralise the wheel on the hub allowing the wheel to fit different hub sizes by using the appropriate spigot ring as an adapter. They should not affect the action of the bolt/wheel/hub other than making it easier to centralise and potentially providing additional support.

I looked OK magik wheels' eBay shop and couldn't find the tuning bolts, but there is a contact number.

If this is TD's own eBay shop, then you could also email them at Rimstock (Google it). Jon B and Andy W have been very helpful in the past.
