I need a new steering wheel as my current one is very worn (showing 130k of use) does anyone know if the vRS wheel will fit the Octavia Sport? 

 

It is a three spoked wheel and i am aware that the vRS also has a 3 spoke wheel but will the airbag fit? Any ideas?

 

 

 

 

 

 

Probably best to look for a wheel/bag combo.  Pretty sure the airbag connector will be the same, and clearly both wheels will fit the spline on the steering shaft too.

 

Remember to disconnect the battery when taking wheels off / refitting.

No coding just vag com or vcds to clear the airbag light.

I decided to look into the steering wheel further but in the meantime I have invested in a £14 steering wheel cover as a temporary measure, in all fairness it doesn't look too bad.

You reckon?! It's looks horrible! Get a new wheel bought.

My Mk2 FL had a plastic 4 spoke steering wheel, I swapped it for for a 3 spoke vRS wheel. Despite being 3 vs 4 spokes, the airbag module was the same and it was a straight sawp. Worth checking the aibag part number for both the vRS and non-vRS steering wheel, that'll tell you there's an issue.

It looks very gash IMHO.

Soend a few quid on one from EBay.

Your steering wheel looks the same as my vrs one,just without the silver trim & leather wheel,id say your airbag would fit a vrs wheel just fine. Mine is a 2008 vrs.
