I stayed Fabia

Featured Replies

A few months back I was on this part of the site requesting information regarding buying an Octavia DSG and have to say guys I can't thank you enough for all the advice.

After much searching (and soul searching) I finally found a really nice 1.2 Tsi 7 speed DSG Fabia Elegance locally and after test drive I decided it was just what I wanted. It's a 2010 one owner with 15K on the clock and cost me £8000 It has a nice spec being Elegance and has things like Maxidot, Cruise, climate and reverse park sensors with on screen graphics. It was bit of a challenge getting used to the primrose yellow but  I actually like it now.

There were a few reasons I went Fabia again ( I traded in my 1.2 HTP on this car), the main ones being I am in my 70's and the size of the Fabia suits me. Also the Octy being such a popular car meant finding a really good used one locally was never going to be easy.

I've had the car about 3 months now and I absolutely love it. I find the 7 sp DSG superb and is like no other Auto I have ever driven as I can go right through the gears 0-7 without even detecting a shift. I have had absolutely no issues and my initial fears about whether the DSG was the way to go have been completely allayed. MPG is low 50's on a run and 40 ish locally which is better than my HTP so that's great.

I really wanted an Octy but in this case my head ruled my heart which is unusual for me but thanks to all once again for the information you gave me, guess it's time to hop back onto the Fabia threads now, best of luck guys.

Harry.

Enjoy ur new car
