I've got an 03 VRS estate that's done 97,000 miles and has a full service history. I've owned it for nearly 4 years and its had tyres, brakes, coils, air pies, new clutch and a few other bits. Today the oil pressure light came on, i stopped, checked the evel after waiting 10 minutes, topped it up and set off again very gingerly. The oil ressure light came on again so i stoped and gogled for a local garage, found one a mile away and drove gently there. The car started rattling a half mile from the garage.

End result s we are probably looking at a new pump as a minimum (the engine was flushed and filled with new oil at the last service). Im 250 mile from home so was hoping to get an idea of cost for fitting a new pump and the chance of having damaged the bottom end?

This is due to oil pickup being blocked not a failed pump !!

The problem is you carrier on driving and potentially could now req a full engine and turbo

Best thing todo is change the oil pickup pipe and fill with fresh oil and cross your fingers that it will be okay

Shouldn't cost more than £100 to &150

i agree with above, pick up pipe.
