I got an MOT advisory on my Scout yesterday - 'Slight play in OSP steering rack'.

 

Bit annoyed I didn't spot it (and it wasn't raised) until I got home. Any idea how serious - likely issue etc?

 

The question is whether I need to take it in as soon as or just when convenient...

Advisories seem to be issued in the spirit of 'it won't fail you now but could later', like your tyres' tread is low but not illegal yet: so I'd say get some one to look at it when convenient.

Its probably just the tie rod, not a big job,
