Had the car serviced at 50,000, went out today, oil can warning light on, checked the oil level it was just showing on the stick, put just over 1 ltre in to bring it back to the mark, at 54,000 is this normal for the 1,9 tdi???, my octy used a quarter of a litre over 10,000 miles

Where did you have the car serviced?

 

 I ask because everytime I go to the dealer I dip the oil before I leave, guess what, it is always on the minimum mark, chances are you have had the same and your car has only used a small amount of oil.

 

 Can you see smoke or oil on the floor?

 

 Top it up and keep an eye on it.

No smoke that I can see and no leaks, just wonder if they take the level before they start it up to let the oil filter fill and dont check it again once its run, oil filter looks like it could easily take half a litre
