Seat Heating with vcds

Featured Replies

I noticed that the seat heaters switch off automatically after a while which isn't as such a problem really but whilst playing with vcds recently I noticed there was an option for keeping them on whilst driving or something like that.

Is there a reason they turn off? do people adjust them to stay on permanently while they are switch on?

I've activated the lock/unlock chip, auto lock/unlock when driving, emergency flash braking (no idea if this actually works) and both rear fogs although I didn't see this working but realised there probably isn't a bulb in the previously unused holder.

Are there any other gems to switch on? not bothered by drls or cornering fog lights.

can you adjust the sensitivity of the auto lights? as I found they wouldn't come on in thick fog

thanks chaps

I am guessing they turn off automatically to prevent any burn out of the heater elements or something, I expect its more to air on the side of caution and guess they presume that once teh heating element has warmed the seat and your bum then you dont need to keep them on :-)

I presume this is on fl cars cos the pre-fl just has a dial that will stay on?

no my car is a pre-fl vrs but they only stay on for a little while after reaching the set temps then the elements seem to switch off automatically

but I'm sure I spotted an option in vcds to set them to stay on permanently
