Connection for brake pad sensor

Featured Replies

Having just fitted Lucas pads to the front of the Octy I have a slight problem, the connector on the car for the pad sensor is male, the connector on the pad is also male!!

The parts centre (Cafco) pulled the pad part number from the computer and checked in the book. I noticed in Halfords they list a "fitting kit" for the sensor equipped pads - is this what I need to get?

The little pad warning light is going to get very annoying before long (unless I work out how to sort the conection or VAG-COM it permanently off ;) )

We get this sometimes on genuine sets.

I usually cut the connectors off and just use insulated lucar terminals.

Cut both connectors off and join them how??

I was considering cutting the connector off the old VAG pad and soldering it in place of the Lucas connector, not very difficult, just a pain in the bum.

Join them with two sets of crimp connectors.

Good plan! I'll borrow some crimps from work tomorrow.
