Hello from another new owner

Featured Replies

I have just acquired a 2010 Superb 170 DSG Elegance Estate (Combi) with 52K miles and thought I should drop in and say hi!

I sold a Jag XFS as I needed a large estate car and looked at several options before plumping for the Skoda.

I only collected the car on Saturday and am trawling through the forums to try and deal with the few niggles and so far have found some of the answers I'm seeking so thank you to all the contributors.

I have to say I find the car a wee bit noisy (road noise) but that could just be because I've vome from the Jag. Or maybe the 18" wheels and skinny tyres don't help.

I'm having a few issues with the entertainment system (upgraded speaker option fitted or so the dealer tells me) including difficulty in loading cd (MP3) recorded discs into the hard drive.

Also taking me a while (already covered almost 500 miles) to find the right seating position but I think I'm getting there.

Need to buy mats as the drivers mat is worn through and recommendations for a lipped boot mat that won't interfere with the load rials in the boot would be welcomed as would info on the best place to obtain the cargo nets.

I spoke to a local VAG indy specialist before I bought the car (they have looked after my wife's Audi A4 for 10 years) and he says the car is easily chipped to 200bhp which would also likely improve MPG. Although its not something I'll do right away any feedback on this would be appreciated.

There is a buzzing noise coming from the front end (resonace) at just above tickover. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing it before I go taking it apart?

Thanks in advance for all the help.

Welcome.
