See all that worrying for nothing  .

Welcome to yeti ownership, and hope you have a lot of happy miles together  B)

Glad you are so pleased with your yeti,I am still waiting for mine to be built this week. Mine is a 2.0 110.

Hope I will be as pleased as you are. Happy Motoring. We used to live in Buckinghamshire (high Wycombe) moved away 6 months ago.

What's the colour?. Mine is petrol blue- or will be when it is built.

My family are in Radnage. Hope you get yours soon! The waiting is painful but is worth it!

Corrida Red, my third red car!

I know Radnage very well,my old boss lives there, he use to Own the Skoda dealership in Beaconsfield, sold it when he retired.

(small world) I think yeti looks really stunning in red, wife prefers blue though- compromise.

I was tossing up between red or blue, I was having dinner with a group of friends and I asked what they thought, up went a chorus of "RED!" so that was it! I like blue petrol blue, but in the solid colours they only do a very dark blue.

A small world indeed. I live just round the corner from Radnage - used to have a lad working for me who lives in Radnage and my first Skoda (Fabia vRS) came from Brown's...! Enjoy the new born Yeti

I went by train to Nottingham on Tuesday and collected my lovely Yeti on Wednesday.

I'm sure you've said what prompted you to go to Nottingham to buy.  (Maybe that was where the broker's nominated dealer was....ie drive the deal?)..... but didn't spot it earlier.

I'm also in the West Country and went to London for mine as that's where the best deal was.

Pleased you're happy with it.

Yup! Got it in one! Dealers down here didn't want to know re discount, paltry sums offered. It was well worth the effort.

They are really nice people in Rainworth!

Thanks for that.

You'd have thought I was asking for the earth when asking my local two dealers to get somewhere close to that offered elsewhere.  Why is it that one dealer is able to knock two grand off a Yeti and still stay in business (and thrive, in fact) and my local dealers look indignant and issue sharp intakes of breath when asked to get close?

Having said that Drive the Deal are, again, not listing Skoda.

The way I see it is in three years time my Yeti will be worth whatever it's worth irrespective of what I paid for it...so if I get two grand off at purchase then, come time to sell,  I'll be two grand better of.  And two grand is two grand in my book.

Well done, Fairyvan - your local dealers obviously thought they had you over a barrel!  A decent discount is well worth the journey, isn't it!

Glad you're pleased with it.  Got one on order myself (only a 1.2, though) and very much looking forward to its arrival.  Currently silver, but that could change to Jungle Green or Moon White.  I'm with you on the red, though, and the only thing putting me off it is that it's non-metallic.

Low margins, but volume sales as opposed to higher profit, less sales- I suspect the happier sales guys will work for the former!

I had my price quoted and introduction to dealer from Jonathon at Carfile- very helpful - even got my factory fit tow bar and spare wheel discounted.

They've been going for donkey's years.  I did speak to Jonathon once, although didn't actually do that particular deal there....and found him to be excellent.  i think he's taken on the management from another family member (father??).  Always gets good reviews.  I think it's good that there are a few outlets that you can approach for competitive and reliable broker based pricing.  It suits some buyers to go straight to their local dealer and have ultimate convenience of part exchanging their current car and buying a new one with no hassle, haggling or debate (and, maybe, pay top dollar). And others don't mind putting themselves out in order to get the best price and put up with a bit more inconvenience or travelling.

They certainly have some good credentials, which is one of the reasons I went with them plus recommendation on here.

With the internet we are all much better informed purchasers, so we are able to make choices that suit us.

Drive The Deal have  (so they told me) lost their Skoda dealer so until they have another one - no more Yeti's, sadly.

I am grateful for all the advice I have received through this forum- I cannot imagine how we would all manage now without 'the information highway'.  I know the 'net' can cause  problems at times, ie social network sites particularly can have their downsides, but on the whole, I think it is one of the most amazing inventions of our times!!
