Was this a "Regen"

Featured Replies

Got back from shopping trip had to stop to open road gate and instead of revs dropping to 750 they were a tad over 1000.

Drove in parked up and revs still at 1000.  Waited 5 minutes---seemed like a lot of heat at rear of car but may have imagined it--still at 1000.

Gave throttle very small blip and revs rose then dropped to 750.

Was this a regen?? No dash lights came on --.  Is there a dash light that comes on ?

Thanks

Sounds like it to me. No lights come on if everything ok.

Thank you Tech1e.

Am I right --if the regen had happened while I was driving I would not have noticed it. Is that so ?

Seems a simple process either way.

Thanks.

Yeah that's right.

The CRs handle it a lot better than the older PDs.

Mine had it's first (known) to me regen after 800 miles.  Warning light came on as I was going into town so gave it a 15 mile motorway blast.  Light went out and hasnot come on since.  Am new to desiels hope that was right thing to do??

What does it mean if the DPF symbol is dimly lit?

MarkRawlinson may I ask you the question---does yours shudder when going from pressure on throttle to pressure off throttle and vice versa.

Just curious.    As suggested above it's going in. I'm not having it like this.   Is Rapid Czech for lemon.?

My Fabia has done plenty of regens including in heavy traffic when I can give it a bit of a run and have never had any problems with the DPF or warning lights. Car has now down over 36000 miles.

In reply to shuddering no it doesn't shudder . I do find it picks up a lot when I take my foot off accelerator or take it off to change gear as if it's in cruise control. The only recen thing I have noticed is how it feels when the ignition first is switched on like it's heavy, I put that down to colder weather.

Re the regen I think the warning light only come on to tell you to do a regne when necessary, my car gets mostly short journeys but if your doing loads of miles then the regen should be automatic and not need a warning light, thats how I understand it anyway.

The warning light will come on after so many failed attempted regens to tell you to drive in the manner required to successfully complete one.
