Octy VRS mk1 speakers

Featured Replies

Hi. Just fitted my JVC headunit. Looks great but the speakers sound awful. Possibly got a blown front speaker.

Any choice upgrades? Looking to replace with OEM style no stupid additional tweeters or subwoofers. Haha..

Just regular factory fit BRANDED speakers...anyone?

Ooo. Here's the headunit. Looks great.

Lovin the double din looks very oem+

As the factory speakers are very poor just about anything will sound better. I've fitted caliber in front doors and rear deck. Sound much better but can't handle much bass, not an issue for me as I've got 2 Kenwood 10" subs in a ported box for that. So really for an upgrade the choice is yours I always liked JBL stuff but mounting depth is an issue in the front so check befor you buy.

I had Infinity 625is in the front but I think they're now discontinued.

I replaced them (after I blew one!) with some Focal Access 165 A1. These sound wonderful, produce excellent bass but you do have to find somewhere for the crossover so they don't meet your criteria :) Also you have to very slightly bend a metal bit for the magnets to go in :0

One thing I highly recommend is to put some Dynamat in the doors.

It really improves bass and sound quality.

A comon upgrade is the alpine E type speakers bud

Iirc its a inline hpf for the tweeter so now issues of crossovers

Yeah I swapped the tiny estate rears for some with inbuilt tweeters.

Estate has 6x4" in the rear.

Is it a hatch or estate ?

I have old Rockfords. They sound pretty decent.

You can stash X overs under the dash either side and just run the wires back to the doors.

Easy peasy.

That's what I did :)
