What is the depth of the spare wheel well in Fab vRS?

Featured Replies

Simple question really. I am planning a new boot install and I can't be bothered to rip out my existing boot install to make a measurement - It would take hours. Can anyone make the measurement for me easilly, it would be most appreciated.

I need to know how deep or even the full dimensions of the spare wheel well.

Cheers. :)

Anyone want my false floor/old install? You can have all the wood bits apart from the sub box. So you get a base, supports and carpeted top bit with amp vents. Room for two amps in there. If you are interested I can post some pics.

Matt, I'll have it pretty please, only need the top bit with the carpet. My old one is rotting away in a French breaker's yard :(

Edit: to reply to your question, I've never measured it but reckon it's a tad over 21cm deep ;)

I know its not deep enough for a 7.5J 17" alloy & tyre... My floor sits a little proud now. :( But it'll be under a false floor soon enough.

Ok. Obviously it's somewhere between 21 and 22.5cm deep then. Cheers. Thats not quite as deep as I was hoping but I can work with it.

Xav - you're welcome to it.

9", I think, it does taper and change deep a lot though, atthe edges it is a lot less.

I made a sub box out of fiberglass in mine link below, dead simple to do

:)

I've fitted a RE XXX12 sub which is 8.5" deep and it works no problem. I also fitted a second battery to help keep the voltage consistant (far better than a power cap). The enclosure is aprox 1.25cuft.

Hope this helps.

Goota take my hat off to you. That is a tasty looking neat install. Just wish I had the time and skills to pull something like that off.

Its a lot easier than you might think, It took around 4 days work to do, there's still loads of bits that niggle me.

Nice work Grant. I had ago last year but wasn't happy with the end result. Maybe if I had more time I would of done a better job.
