Right OK, I can already see the 2.5 tdi "sceptics" shouting "I told you so", but a recent scan of my error codes has revealed the dreaded injector number 3 fault, clearing it brings it up instantly once again without running the engine.

So I am hoping it might just be a dodgy wiring loom rather than the injector itself.

Anyone has any experience of this fault on the lovely AYM/BDG lumps? 

I know these injectors are over £400  :love:

At the moment the car seems to be running OK, although I did report a couple of months ago that it has started shaking a bit at idle - now that I am used to it, this very gentle shake does not bother me any more, but perhaps it's doing so because of a failing loom or injector number 3?  Any thoughts?

There are 4 AYM injectors on ebay at the moment for £30 a pop, might be worth a go - not sure how difficult they are to fit though.
