Flashing temp light fix, is this what I need?

Featured Replies

As I posted last week my car's temp light has started flashing on start up even when it's cold, reading up on it it seems something to do with the expansion tank is faulty. Do I just buy a new expansion tank as in the link below and will this sort it, or is there a sensor or something I need to buy as well? Cheers

Well, you can buy a new expansion tank (includes sensor), or try just scraping the 2 metal prongs inside the tank with a flat bladed screwdriver first.

Just went to clean the two prongs on my dinner break and came to find no coolant in there :( looked under the car and it has leaked all over the floor, brilliant ! Any ideas what it could be? Split pipe or radiator I'm thinking

Did it have suitable coolant mixture?

If it was old or not strong enough etc it may have froze and caused some damage.

It had been frosty a few times over the past few weeks that's all.

I don't know what the mixture was mate, all I can say is the coolant that was in was pure pink. Weather it was mixed with anything I don't know but the leak is on the left hand side of the engine
