Hello, I am new to these forums, I have owned an octavia for Six months, I love the car however It seem to have suffered with endless problems, as well as eaten up all my spare cash.

I am hoping the experience on this will help me push through these latest issues.

As I said I enjoy driving my octavia, I bought it second hand about April time to commute about 300 miles every weekend.

To date It has done about 190,000 miles, since owning the car I have replaced both front shocks, springs all round, various pipes, lights and air filter. Just normal for a car with high mileage manufactured in 2003 I guess, spent another £270 getting through MOT.

How ever in the last week the car has begun shuddering with loss of power in every gear along with blue smoke coming from exhaust if I don't ease of throttle.

Had a quick look on forum and it seems it could be running rich? Is that difficult to rectify?

Blue smoke is usually a sign of oil being burnt, I'd ask again in the Ocatvia section and maybe get your car scanned, there is a list of members with VCDS, there may be someone near you who could scan it for you.
