Washer bottle motor change

Featured Replies

How hard is it to extract the washer bottle from the engine bay? My rear wash does not seem to work and the motor sounds funny. There does not appear to be any water leaking so I know that there is not a leak in the pipework anywhere in the engine bay. Is this a common problem across the Octavia range as I know that in the Ibiza's the pipe would get loose and come off the motor.

Check in your boot behind the cd changer, there's a join that often pops off.

And if it's not the pipe behind the CD changer, it will be inside the rear wiper motor.

VAG designed a rather ridiculous solution to the rear wash / wipe. The washer fluid runs straight through the middle of the motor itself. Rubbish!

And eventually, the whole shebang leaks like a **** inside the motor housing. Which eventually also leads to a dead motor through rusting.

If it is leaking inside the motor, it' a fairly easy job to strip and fix. If I can do it, anyone can!

Good luck.
