Fabia central locking problems

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I've just bought my first skoda,Fabia 1.4 diesel estate, and after googling door opening and locking problems I came across this site. When I unlock with the key fob only the drivers door unlocks. Is there something I'm doing wrong or is central locking glitches a common problem with Skodas.

I was happy with the key in the door system..!

Thanks...

Thats standard, when i say standard i don't mean common problem.  1 push opens drivers door only, 2 pushes opens everything else.  It can be changed with VCDS lite like i did with mine.  Drove me round the bend.  VCDS lite is a free download from here……

Then you need a KKL cable like this one…..

OR

have a look on the members map and see if anyone local to you will do it for a couple of beer tokens.

It's common and a feature that's factory enabled. One press on the unlock button on the remote unlocks the drivers door only, a second press of the unlock button opens the remaining doors and the boot. It's possible to have this disabled via VagComDiagnosticSystem (VCDS) so that all doors are unlocked with one press.

Great,thanks for your replies.Nice one.

It's sold as a safety feature,ie, the scumbag watching you can't leap in another door while you are struggling with parcels/baby etc.

Mines got a little switch on the drivers door above the electric window switches, which opens the other doors.(got a picture of a key on it!)

You can also change whether the lights blink or the horn sounds either on the lock or the unlock, and you can activate anti-hijack which, lock the doors when you go over 5mph & auto unlock when key out of ignition, adjust steering ratio etc, etc,.The full VCDS is great fun! I've done mine Fabia, mates Golfs MK4 & MK5.etc
