Had my fabia fitted with 16"  alloys and Nokian WR A3 winter tyres. the car drives so much better accelerates much faster and is getting better MPG all good so far.

Is the acceleration better just from less total diameter of the tyres, them being smaller

& is your speedo and mileometer now off by a little so giving a misleading MPG?

(or is it better grip and traction, which you might expect would reduce economy)

Acceleration feels better due to the wheels being lighter/smaller diameter i think, speedo is a tad out but not much at all.

 

I thought the better economy was due to the lighter wheels which is very apparent as the steering is much less weighted.
