Does anyone know if the backlight for the Stream MP3 can be switched off at all?. i only use the aux function on the unit and would rather have the cabin as dark as possible. i know the unit will briefly light up when changing the climatronic etc so there hopefully is a way of making it like that at least?.

I've never seen a backlight on/off option on any of the VAG units. The bext I could suggest would be to use a piece of black card shaped to fit the screen if you're not wanting to see the screen.

There are two options in setup menu. One controls the light around the on/off switch, I can't remember what the other option does but it is explained in the handbook.

Looks like i'm going to have to get a piece of card to put in there, not sure why i never thought of that.

 

The two illum option on this unit are:

 

1. Backlight off with headlights off

 

2. On/Off knob permanently illuminated.
