Anyone using torque android app on a vrs?

Featured Replies

Ok guys I am thinking about maybe using a 5 inch tablet as an aux dash in the rally car, possibly built into the center where the radio was. just mainly to keep an eye on boost and coolant levels in longer stages and to have a max recall on temps etc.

Has anyone tried it , does it work ok and give the data I would need on screen as a gauge etc?

I think it would make a neat solution to having a couple of different gauges stuck here and there if it will give the data I need, I would just hardwire the tablet charger into an ign live and use a bluetooth obd adaptor unless there is a way of using a wired adaptor (maybe more reliable?) and for the price of a half decent boost gauge too..

Have a look in the Fabia project sectio for Korban.

No oil temp though, the most important IMO

I have this. Think its not all that great. I dont trust the boost gauge. Think its best to put a good proven boost guage amd oil guage on your dash ;)

Its good for average speed and gps speed.

But. Its only 6 quid.. worth the money. Even for quick eml light knock off. Like earlier.. I left my maf sensor unplugged while I ran up my car.. luckily keep my bluetooth dongle in glove box. So was simple to knock off

well I have ordered a bluetooth dongle, I have an android tablet I can use to try it and I compare the app to vagcom live data I suppose to see what the calibration is like.

I have a sump with the oil level sensor (as the engine was from a golf) so might be able to hook that up if I have a dig around for wiring diagrams..

Mine has a oil level sensor too :( if you get it working let us know, I think I'm going down the dedicated gauges route anyway tbh, gonna use it for fun/tracking so don't need anything flash in it.

I use it on my vrs with my 5.5" note 3. Use it mainly for boost n coolant temp as it's more accurate than the default dial on the dash. Can't go wrong for what it costs.
