2004 fabia Vrs turbo hesitation sometimes!?!

Featured Replies

Hi, recently bought a fabia Vrs after owning a few leon cupra tdi's, golf gt tdi's.. Last couple of weeks have noticed a hesitation in turbo kicking in but only sometimes (usually first time I put my foot down proper) and usually in second gear.. Then clears and is fine.. It's a 2004 54 plate and love it otherwise!! Engine is standard but did have a new turbo last year which is still under warranty. Thanks in advance guys!! :-)

Has it been serviced? What sort of condition is the egr in? Check the Skoda Fabia technical guide sub forum lots of good information in there. Also check the vacuum pipes the slightest of holes can make a difference, sometimes their not noticable at first glance.

Have a look at the turbo ( visible from under the car) . I think the turbo could be a new one. And in which case will Probly need the stop screw and actuator rod setting up.

When it hesitates in 2nd gear. Look in the rear veiw mirror. Is there a nice load of smoke behind you ?

It's your EGR sticking.  Seen this happen loads of times.

Clean it out and it should be fine.
