Oil in intercooler?

Featured Replies

Just cleaning out intercooler, noticed a lot* of oil in there. Does that mean my turbo seals are knackered; should I be worried and looking at new turbo in the long run?

Could this amount of oil come from crank-case breather hose alone?

*About 3 teaspoons.

sounds about right! crankcase gasses can be diverted using elephant hose modification

seems OK to me   somewhere in the dim and distant I have a post on SEAT or FREDs  as to the amount per 1000 miles collected in my homemade separator (ASZ engine)  it was quite a bit from memory that was just from the ccv

OK, that's not so bad then, possibly just the normal amount.

3 teaspoons doesn't seem like a lot mate, completely normal I reckon.

It's probably just condensed in there and can't get back out.
