Cruise control

Featured Replies

Hi, anyone know if the retrofit cruise control kit will fit the fabia mk1 1.4 tdi 2005 model??

Many thanks

If you have; Air con, heated seats, electric windows or trip computer (i think) then it can be done

the the cruise control stalk can be fitted as a replacement for the original but the cruise function itself, has to be 'mapped' onto the car with VAGcom (i think).

So if you have comfort, ambiente or elegance trim levels then it is possible. I think UNIT18 and Shark performance will fit and program in for close to the £150 mark

hope this helps a bit

You should be able to retrofit cruise control to your Fabia.  I bought a kit for my Octavia vRS mark 1 from VW Teeside for about seventy quid which came with the stalk and about four separate wiring looms to replace the existing ones (I got the guys at Dubbers where I got the car from to fit it to mine whilst they were PDI-ing it).  There are different kits for different engines though, so make sure that you get the right one.  The kit also came with very comprehensive instructions, including the instructions to code it on VAG-COM.  Strangely, the cruise control on VW group cars doesn't have a light on the dashboard to tell you that it's switched on or in use like most other makes.  Doesn't really matter though.

As you're in West Yorkshire, the guys at Sultas (VW specialist in Leeds) would be able to fit it for you - one of the gaffers is an ex Skoda main dealer mechanic and what he doesn't know about Skodas isn't worth knowing!

Hope that this is some use.

Brilliant thanks for that guys, yeah mine is the classic so it has trip computer and air con. Think I'm going to order one and see how difficult it is to fit. If I can't manage it I will Definately give them a call.
