red oil light flashing

Featured Replies

Hello there guys.

Had car serviced last week and yesterday the Car wouldnt start after work. Battery seems ok I think it was starter motor. So I push started it. Few minutes later red oil light was flashing and went of after 10mins . I started car again and came on again and now it stays on whats this about? Any suggestion. Please .. thanks

Have you checked the oil level?

You might want to take a peek at the manual.

You don't say whether it is a Mk1 or 2 but then as far as I remember both are pretty much stop driving and check the level as top up or get Skoda Assist.  You may have done some damage by continuing to drive!

Orange is low oil level, red is low oil pressure which is a bit of an issue.

I take it is a Mk1,

a Mk2 has a DSG and no point trying push starting.

Sorry about that. Its a 04 fabia vrs . The light came on and went off . But I literally drove for about 3 mins around the corner from home.. and the oil is spot on level and brand new oil.. mechanic said its the oil pressure swich/sensor. And has dealt with alot of the same problems wiyh many skodas nd vw's

Sounds like you have a bit more detail than you initially indicated!  May be better to post in the Mk 1 section as if it is a general problem others there may well have experienced it and know the best way forward.
