So your thoughts guys...

 

Gets to the car this morning, goes to start the car it is started for about a second or so then died. I then went to start it again and all it would do is turn over... Called RAC who persisted more than I did at turning it over and eventually got it started however the car has lots of blue smoke whilst driving from exhaust now and engine shaking on idle... Any ideas?

 

I did notice prior to this a couple of mornings leading upto today when I started it cold it fired up but coughed and splutted for a few seconds then went to normal... It is currently sat with the dealer ready for monday morning :/

Diagnostics might show up what the car is thinking, but the symptoms don't sound good.  Blue smoke usually means burning oil?

Yeah the RAC said that.. He put he suspects it might be the turbo? Still pulls OK tho!

 

I thought it might have been the fuel pump in the tank :/ although Surely that wouldn't cause blue smoke?

I had a similar fault with my egr stuck shut. I had grey smoke due to the unburnt fuel but worth checking it's not stuck etc as a weak point on these engines.

check your reciepts if you have fuelled up lately

Needs a scan as mentioned but also as mentioned, seems an oil issue and oil's getting in somewhere it shouldn't

Defo not Petrol. Done nearly 200 mile since my last fill up lol

turbo shaft snapped, so compressor is jamming housing, this is what happened to mine with the turbo went, blue smoke also a sign

Did it have trouble starting up? Once started seemed fine to start for the rest of the day however whilst driving around loads of blue smoke and shaking engine on idle.

Sure did mine stalled across a roundabout, wouldnt restart unless i took off top intercooler hose to allow air in.

The blue smoke says serious issue
