Speakers Again....

Featured Replies

hi guys,

o.k so lets see if i got this right.....

Front 13cm 3ways disconnect tweeters

Rear 6x9 3ways under shelf, disconnect tweeters....

does this sound about right? Also my new HU is 4x50w, so can any one recommend what wattage is right for the speakers.

cheers Fram

Hmm,thought the front speakers were 16 or 16.5cm,although it is quite possible I'm wrong.

You might find fitting 6x9's a bit much for the standard shelf -- don't forget it aint ment to have anythinf on it - and therfore has not been designed as such -- may not be solid enough to get a good result.

might be worth thinking about making an MDF shelf.

The rears are 13cm , the fronts are 16.5s

You could stick 6*9s in the parcel shelf but they will be an obvious target for thieves unless you make a decent stealth shelf to conceal them.

How about strengthening it with cut offs? :) I know Paul (ffelan) tightened his shelf up somehow, but I was too polite to ask...

Doh!!!.....yep fronts are 16.5/ 17cm....and yes a stealth shelf is on the cards, my pug 306 had one as standard which was good cos now I know how to make a good job of it, any ideas of the wattage I need though HU is 4x50....

Cheers Fram.

For the fronts , anything rated at around 150w will be fine
