Featured Replies

Hi,I,m having trouble starting every morning or when left for a good few hours.it takes a while for to start And when turning the key I get brake workshop warning message on. That's the only time it comes on. when car starts its spluttery and lots of smoke till it heats up.The odd day it cuts out 2 or 3 time while ticking over after startup. Any ideas? many thanks in advance

should have said its a 2007 1.9 td .

I'd start by checking the brake fluid level.

After that, whichever pad(s) have wear sensors. These can be intermittent when the pad is part-worn.

And your cut-outs are probably completely unrelated to your warning light too.

Some people here have said that the 1.9 likes a good strong fresh battery to start easily.  I have no such experience on my V6 lump, but you may want to consider this possibility that perhaps you need a new battery?  Perhaps that's also triggering the ABS unit or something else as voltage drops during cranking...
