Windscreen air vents - inconsistent airflow

Featured Replies

I put my windscreen demister on this morning and noticed that the right (driver's) side of the windscreen was not clearing.  I put my hand over the windscreen vents on the right-hand side of the dashboard and no air was coming out of them until I moved my hand left towards the centre (beyond the left line of the steering wheel) where the air was coming out strongly.  Is there any obvious reason why the vents are failing at the far right-hand side?  Could it something blocking them (that I might be able to correct manually) or is it more likely a technical issue?

It's not major, it would just be nice to fix, as it is the driver's side.

Thanks.

I've had 8 VAG group cars, last 2, skodas and on all the screen ventilation favours the left side......for LHD cars.

Guess they can't be bothered to adjust for RHD cars?

Mine allways cleared the passenger side, way before the drivers.

if you have airflow on one side and not the other, it could be a sticky or out of calibration flap motor. With VCDS it should be possible to work out which, and run the basic tests to recalibrate the flap positions.
