MK1 Fab VRS - fitting a txautosport intercooler

Featured Replies

Afternoon all,

Considering one of these for my Fabia to go to stg 2 from the current stg 1 state. How easy are they to fit? I'm assuming they have a universal pipe kit etc as there isn't a specific option for the Fabia.

Any experience?

There was a long group buy and fitting thread. Lots of disscusion.

Cannot find the bloody thing! I am a believer in searching before posting...

Will have another look now

Joe_tdi_vrs or joe_vrs_tdi has a guide on his build thread :)

I'm sure I read that these aren't upto the job on a hybrid. Might be worth asking before you buy it though

Cheers guys! Why wouldn't it be suitable for a hybrid?

I had a look Paul but couldn't find it?!

Knock yourself out...

Discussion, heresay, bitching and worries... :) The usual sort of car forum discussion...

Main things...

1) "Kit" issues with missing parts needing to be resent.

2) Hacking the piping to fit the silicone bends/joiners over the stumps. Or have to buy Forge/Darkside etc couplers or run compelte custom turbo piping.

3) Have heard their silicone pipes are crap.

4) Intercooler itself seems fine.

5) Cooler itself is around £60 or for similar. Price up piping and it's hard to get it done for the £200 of the group buy. Almost worth getting the kit, assessing its weak points and adding your own quality to it.
