Hi chaps (and ladys) been looking at giving my fabia 'a good wash' all i seem to be doing is making things worse. Ive bought pw. Snow foam+lance. Wax, wheel kit. And still i think it looks a mess.. and ive asked a second opinion and im right, its not the best. Its race blue which is a brill colour when it looks right. Was just looking for a bit of a routine. Or even better teaching 'on the job' im based in Blackpool but often travel over the border to West Yorks and everywhere inbetween..

Im just banging my head against the wall! Car before i had it was "cared" for by the local £5 'hand wash' where all the staff wear lovely watches and bracelets to attack the paint, although scratch-wise it isnt actually that bad

Right!!

1. Snow foam, leave to dwell for 10 minutes or so.

2. Rinse

3. Wash with your favoured shampoo in bucket of warm water. Go in straight lines backward and forward, starting at he top and working down. Rinse in a second bucket of warm water

4. Rinse

5. Clean alloys with preferred product

6. Rinse whole car again

7. Using a drying towel, dry off paint work and windows

8. Wipe out door shuts and around the boot lid

9. Clean glass with a micro fibre cloth and preferred glass cleaning product

10. Hoover inside

11. Clean glass inside

Job done. Finally, leave the Sainsbury's car park grit pit alone!!

It makes me cringe every time I see those people in Sainsburys.

The first and last time i used one of these polish car washes one of the guys lent against the car and his zipper left a massive key mark along my drivers door as he was washing the roof of my old MG. I immediately got out and took him up on it as i could hear the scrape from the inside. Never got a penny out of them, just got offered the wash FOC and 10 free washes. Yeh right! Never again.
