  1. Evening all!! Starting to look at replacing the Pirelli P Zero's on the beast... What do folks recommend, think, use, etc.. I'm tempted by Dunlop Sport Max RT2's as both the family Fabia's have Dunlop's and they never seem to ware!! The wife had 2 vRS mk2 Fabia's and I never replaced the tyres and her current Monte Carlo has the same Dunlop's and so does my son's Redline Fabia..... My other choices are Goodyear Eagle F1's or Continental Sport Contact 6's. Thoughts, opinions or suggestions etc all gratefully received!!
  2. Big thanks to the parts department for sorting out and fixing the wing mirror on the wife's Fabia at short notice and keeping the costs to the minimum!!
  3. Treated the wife's Monte Carlo last month with the kit for the paint work. It is fantastic in my opinion!! Follow the instruction in the kit and you won't go far wrong. Deep clean, decontaminate and polish the paint first, then follow the easy steps, leave the car in a garage for 6 hours, or over night and you will see fantastic gloss and shine!! Should last for 12 months if maintained properly. The water repelling and hydrophobic properties are to be seen to believed!! I'm seriously thinking of treating my son's car. You can get treatments for the entire car, but I'm just sticking with the paint treatment for now..... Anyone in Kent interested in me treating their car, give me a PM and I'll happily sort your car out at a reasonable cost... minimum £50.00 as that's how much the kit is on sale for.
  4. Now called Motorline Skoda, all other details remain the same.
  5. Had the car serviced there today. Was quoted £292 for the second service and requested they look at the rear washer jet as it was defective. I dropped the car off at 8am and popped off for a breakie at the local Tesco's. I was back roughly 90 minutes later and it was all done and the washer jet on the back was replaced. The cost for service and new jet was £250, happy days!! I asked about having the auto lock feature being activated on my wife's and son's MK3 Fabia's after a spate of incidents in the Maidstone area where scrotes are trying to get in cars and one lad was car jacked and robbed!! They asked me to pop back after 2pm with my son's car. So, after popping back and 15 minutes wait, the car was done via VAG.com. I'm taking my wife's car back tomorrow after 2pm to get that sorted. Nice one chaps!!
  6. I called them the other day as I thought I was being a bit harsh after my previous review and decided to use their on line booking service as my vRS needed it's second service and I wanted to confirm it was booked in as I hadn't received a confirmation email...……. I called the dedicated Skoda number and asked to speak to the service dept in order to confirm my booking and I had a question for the service chaps. I was told I could not speak to them and I HAD to speak to the booking team. I was put through to some one else, not the booking team!! The lady I spoke to was able to tell me that I was not booked in for a service!! So much for the on line booking service!! I was then put back through to the call taker, even though I asked again to speak to the service dept. So, back to the call taker who asked if I was wanting to speak to the parts department. I said, no, service dept please..... No, I couldn't speak to them, I must go through the booking team!!! In the end after 10 minutes of trying, I told the call taker that she and Beadles are an absolute joke and bid them a frustrated farewell. I will never use them again!! Rollocks to them!!
  7. As Deadpool would say.. "Oh, hello!! I know right...….!"

  8. EDIT!!!!! I forgot... Silly me Clean the seats with a leather cleaner and condition them (if leather obviously, or at least the leather parts..) Protect the seats (and carpets) if they are fabric with 303 Aerospace fabric protector (bit like scotch guard) Dress the inner plastics, dash board and door cards
  9. I don't drink.... Unless it's a chilled Chablis.... but even that's very rare, lol!!
  10. Got he car booked in at a VAG independent garage in a couple of weeks, it needs an MOT, so get it all done in a day
  11. My new car prep is as follows... (brace your self... ) Wheels washed and faces cleaned with a dedicated wash mitt, barrels cleaned with a Wheel Woolly brush. Snow foam, dwelling time depending on conditions, but around 5 to 10 minutes Rinse Wash with wash mitt using 2 bucket method Rinse Iron X decontamination, dwell for around 5 minutes Rinse Clay bar body work and glass (And don't forget, "Drop the clay, throw it away!") Rinse Dry with a plush drying towel Machine polish with a dual action machine. Depending on the age and condition of the paint, I may compound polish first... Light coat of snow foam to lift off the polish dust Rinse Dry with a fresh towel Wax Clean the glass inside and out Dress the tyres and wax the alloys Hoover inside Air freshener sprayed on the matts Check tyre pressures, oil, coolant and washer fluid levels And then fall over going "wibble!"
  12. I think it wold, but I really don't want to risk it.
  13. I use Autoglym on my sons car in 3 stages. SRP, EGP then High Def wax. I find if you apply the EGP on a micro fibre pad working in straight lines with minimal pressure, it gives a contestant coating. Leave for 30 to 45 minutes to allow it to cure, then buff off with a clean quality micro fire towel / cloth.
  14. I have considered leaving the hand break off, but my drive is sloped and I worry about the damage it could cause the gear box.... I know I could use a couple of house bricks to chock the wheels, but It could cause strain and damage to the gear box, couldn't it? And I don't have any issues with my Octi or the wife's Ferbi…. Must be a drum break issue?
  15. Evening all. Not posted on here for a while, but I need some advice..... In a nut shell, the rear brakes on my sons car stick badly after I wash the car and leave it standing over night. The last time I washed, the rear nearside brake stuck on so bad, the wheel locked and left a 20 foot skid mark down the road!! Once the car was reversed, the brake released and it's been fine ever since. It's a 2013, 63 plate Sport. My son is looking to change the car in the next few months but I need to get this fixed ASAP, either new brakes or an effective repair. The car didn't do this when we got it and has been serviced as per the schedule (once we established the previous owner missed the 2nd service.. Long story!!) Advice, tips, solutions etc all gratefully received and if anyone can recommend some where in the West Kent area, even better.. Cheers folks.
