Possible ABS Pump failure

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a question with regards to ABS Pump in Skoda Octavia 2007. Got in the car one evening, turned ignition on and started to drive. An alarm started to sound and following control light stayed illuminated - Power steering, ABS, Hand Brake and the one with car skidding. I had a engineer to have a look and he said the most likely ABS pump has failed, which appearently id quite common in Skoda's. My question is how do I firnd out the pump model and if it suitable for my car? Any ideas? Cant afford to take it to the garrage so want to look for second hang or suitable relacement on line.

Many thanks

Check your battery top fuse box. I had all the dash lights on last week and it had melted.

Even if you find and fit the pump yourself, you will still need the assistance of somebody with VCDS to actually bleed the pump itself.

However, check the fuse box as has been mentioned, also check the ABS fuse itself has not blown before you go ordering bits.

I have a brake servo box thing if you find you need one. The box on nearside with 4 or 5 brake line connections.

As a matter of interest, how old is the battery in your car ?

I had this on my Mk1 4x4 with ESP where the three lights stayed on.

In my case the battery was original and tired, but when I replaced it with an OEM (Varta) the lights never came back on. Can only assume insufficient current.

Good luck.
