Drivers window regulator

Featured Replies

Hi People,

I have just fitted a new regulator on the drivers side of my 08'Superb.

The motor appeared to be functioning prior to change, however, after change and reassembly I do not have power at the master switch anymore and also the "remote central locking unit" has stopped working, the central locking does work manually. Just wondering if anyone has had this problem and may have a quick solution. I have checked the fuzes and all appear fine. Thanks for any help or advice.

make sure the plugs are pushed into the motor tightly its usually the last plug to control all the power

And now you've had the carrier panel off the car you will almost certainly develop a water leak into the cabin.  You might want to seal it up before you wake up to the puddles in the footwell...! :)  Tixophalte on the outside of the carrier, where it meets the door panel, works well and can be removed easily should you need to get in there again.

Hey jimbof and mcautos.

Thanks for the help, however, I would be fairly sure the connections are fine as the connection incorporates a clamp which fully presses home, thanks jimbof for the sealing tip I will be sure to follow up.  I guess tomorrow is another day for researching and fooling around.

Good Luck.

No worries,  I can see on my door frame the evidence of where someone who isn't too clever had levered the door trim off (so must have been in there to repair something) - and sure enough, that door leaks... Apparently they can leak even without having been interfered with, but the seals are so feeble that if you've had them apart they are very unlikely to seal up again.

Hope you get it sorted.
