I know this most likely been put on here loads but anyone upgraded there speakers in the octavia vrs.i just bought thee car aboit a week ago and the spekers are terrible in it.cheers

Is yours a mk1, mk2 or mk3? 

Mk1 sorry.

The fronts are 16.5cm (6.25") but I'm afraid I am not sure what size the rears are 13.0cm (5.25") if you have a hatch or 6x4" if you have an estate.

 

I've got a mk2 which had really poor sound quality and improving the speakers made a difference. If you really want to make it sound good, you'll probably need to change the head unit and possibly amp it at some stage. Try the speakers first and see what you think.
