Hatchback (boot) on Oct VRS stuck, any suggestions gratefully received.

Featured Replies

Hi Im new to the forum but have used it via google to previously replace the central locking actuators on 3 out of 4 doors. I have a 2003 Oct VRS Hatchback and the usual central locking 'clonk' of the boot lock has stopped working but in the closed position. The rest of the doors are still working on central locking so Im guessing the boot lock pump or motor has gone. Does anyone know how I can get the boot open to try to replace either the motor or the lock, (whichever is busted). I presume Ill have to go through the back seat but having previously had the boot door card off to replace the wiper motor before, I didnt spot anything to release the book lock?  Will I end up destoying the door card?? If you have had the same would appreciate a steer in the right direction.

Many thanks

Inside the boot there is a small rectangular panel below the boot latch, pop it out and there is a little orange lever on the end of the catch to pop the boot open.hope this helps
