columbus firmware

Featured Replies

Is the 5269 firmware compatable with the columbus ??

It's not the gateway that determines the firmware available to you (with the exception of pre-2007 cars) but the Columbus part number and hardware (HW) version.

The only difference between 4020 and later firmware is a slight (some say non-existent) improvement in response from the screen and radio text.

You won't get DAB without it either being built in to the Columbus already (very recent and expensive models) or using a external 3rd party module.

i quoted new gateway because the car is a 2005

The radio is from a 2013 car.. and dated 2013 on the label

Think ill avoid upgrade if no real gain.. TBH.. iv no probs with the software i have now except the drag in selections.. but thats down to the internal processor so no SW will make much difference

I've stopped at 4020 as there is no real gain to be made in any of the newer firmwares for non-DAB Columbus units.

I may got to 4120 just so I have radio text (which I quite like) but the implementation of that seems to take over a lot of the screen considering how little of it is used for radio text.
