Using iPhone as a sat nav on Bolero

Featured Replies

Just wondering if anyone is able to get their iPhone displaying (google maps) on the bolero head unit?

I seem to recall its possible however i cant for the life of me remember how!

I've seen mirror link used but not on the new vrs yet.

I don't have the mitsumi connection, if needed is it possible to retro fit? As I saw someone getting videos to play on it that way.

Cheers

As far as I know. No. Video streaming doesn't work over bluetooth.

Even with the mitsumi connection I don't think it would work as the maps isn't a video.

Audio instructions will work BUT only if you're using the iphone as the audio source.

Doesn't the mirror link only work (in cars at least) with the new apple car play system?

Thanks for the reply Mike, that's kinda along the line of what I was thinking.

I already use google maps via Bluetooth and that works OK so I'll stick with that until a better solution appears.

Do you mean you use Bluetooth for the audible part of the directions with Google maps?

Yeah, the voice streams through the speakers and I just have my iPhone on the dash for directions (which I suspect the police may take a dim view of).

Pretty sure it's ok to have the phone acting as a sat nav if safely secured/held in the proper way, not sure the police can do anything??
