  1. Sorry I got it wrong then. Check online if there are any locksmith shops in your area which do car keys. Seeing the condition of your fob, it could be a consideration replace it entirely, and is not because of cosmetics: when the area where you press breaks, dirt and moisture/sweat from the skin goes inside and can ruin the electronics, far more expensive that the fob itself. While I have not done it on this car, I've replaced already 2 times in the last years to my father-in-law's Peugeot, he regularly breaks the fob (various problems) as he keeps in his pocket. Usually I buy an "empty" fob only plastic casing and transfer the board inside, as well as the blade (in his is hinged, more tricky because of the #$%#@ spring).
  2. If your metal 'blade' in the key is broken, you should have it remade by any key specialist shop, is only the machining needed. The electronic part of the key is separated from it. I would advise against homemade attempts to "glue" this together, if your lucky you it will break in your pocket and you will lose the metal blade part, if you are unlucky it will snap when the key is in the door lock .. and you can guess how that saga would continue 😁
  3. Great update ... the dipstick in the press had me in stitches 😁
  4. I think you made a great choice in both counts, model and drivetrain. There is only to gain in all fronts, except tight manouvering and obviously fuel consumption when pinned against a TDi. As for the rest ... ❤ī¸
  5. Unfortunately, there is very little compatibility between vehicles in terms of tow hitches ... it's a curse, really đŸ¤Ē
  6. Niiice!!! Great! Now only to get that blanket/cover and you can pass it as "such it came"! Good to have this available as separate accessory
  7. Good! We wait for more news ...
  8. Sorry to laugh, but every tme I come back to this topic is to have a laugh at the "get rid of 'em trees" 😄
  9. Strange indeed, but I think you need again a good look and diagnostic at the charging system, alternator (how much is pulling out and wether the rectifier - that the word in English? - is working), also do not discount that even the battery you replaced was ruined by the failing alternator during the time between replacement of both. It would be also worth checking if the BMS - Battery Management System - in the car is working properly (but for this you need to have a diagnostics like VCDS or OBD11), and wether the proper type battery and size was correctly installed and coded in the system. Do not exclude anything, unfortunately. Do not rule out anything, at least at this stage. Once more knowledgeable on the problem, is easier to take measures ...
  10. Unless I am wandering around the rear of the car without any meaningful purpose (rarely happens) and willing to get dirty, I have listed this as the "seasonal" activities when I swap rims (summer/winter). Twice an year should be fairly okay.
  11. Great! Good to know it can go wider if needed, then!
  12. Went down for a smoke (yeah, I know) and took a picture ... this is as down as they go. Calculate around 1in higher than the seat stitching (leather), depends how high sits yer kid.
  13. My car does the same ... almost all of the times will go Android auto, activate BT and Wi-fi, but sometimes, very little times actually, will just "dumb up", even in a stop mid-way, and go Mirror Link, or even worse, miss to connect altogether, forcing me to use Waze on the phone screen instead of the car screen. I tried resetting, reconnecting, whatever, I gave up, just accept it does whatever it wants....
  14. Now is the time you will "sacre bleu" me 😁(does anyone still use this expression?) but I have neglected brutally this subject. Unfortunately, many other things have jumped in the way, generally more priority and expensive than the pump if it was to fail. Is not an excuse, just a constatation. This said, in my log I have asked Skoda (this was during warranty period) to make the service, this was in July 24 at 43,500km, to replace oil and clean the screen. They said they did, but since I do not trust anyone anymore, I bought the kit you illustrated (including bolts and gaskets) and thought of doing this at the earliest opportunity. Believe it or not, we are at July 26 and 62,500km and have not done it yet ... ☚ī¸ Wanted to do it before the seaside holiday trip (expected 750/800km overall, tops 1500km if I need to come back for work and go again), but I am buried in work and cannot free myself to do it, nor I do not want to bother engaging anyone ... I hope it lasts until then, after I will have a respite until September and will do it 100%.
  15. I forgot to mention, plugs are NGK "Laser Platinum" PLFER7A8EG, given as equivalent to OE. NGK number 94833 ... Made in Thailand.
