Hi ive sold my mk2 vrs tfsi and am thinking of getting a 2.0 diesel ether vrs or an l&k or elegance, I know about the dpf issues on the scout and vrs and the injector recall on some models how ever I don't know anything about the cam or belt driven oil pumps is it model specific or is it year specific or engine code any help appreciated

This particular problem didn't affect any of the engines in the Octavia.

The only 2.0 TDi VAG models which suffered with oil pump problems were those where the oil pump was driven by a balance shaft, a setup never used in the Octavia .

Normally found in Passats and A4 and A6 Audis and the older Mk1 Superbs.

And there are no well documented issues of DPF failures on the Scout, just with the PD170 lump in the vRS.
