I imagine you my solution gas springs for engine bonnet for Rapid. Because no one offer and a machine design is my livelihood, I suggested a kinematics including the calculation of the required strength. Gas sprigs are not used by default, but are made according my special order. The brackeds are mounted under the bonnet nut on the hinge. The lower joint is screwed in place of the screw attaching the fender. The force gas springs I managed to calculate very accurately. Bonnet comes very easily to close because the gas springs do not put too much resistance. Due to the lower power gas springs hood should help slightly to about 2/3 of the stroke. But that's not what bothered me. The design took precedence certainty due to the delicacy of its bonnet hinges and not to their stress or twisting when closing the bonnet.

No, this is not version from Superskoda.com, they preparing only one-side version. Now is possible buy on ebay. 

Touch wood I won't be in and out of the bonnet enough to justify that mod....

Don´t worry, force and kinematic of the gas spring are designed so that no force is not pushing to the bonnet in the lower position.

Don´t worry, force and kinematic of the gas spring are designed so that no force is not pushing to the bonnet in the lower position.

Kinematic? Is this just something that got lost in translastion? Kinetic Energy?

Sorry: kinematics, thereby it is meant parameters of points fixing to the bonnet and skeleton of car body and course of lift the bonnet.
