Just been on the Dyno

Featured Replies

Just got back from the pistonheads RR day. A stock RS3 ran 334bhp (335bhp from factory) so I presume the rollers are pretty accurate. Here are my results.

Mk2 Octavia vRS with K04 conversion. Mods in signature.

Why is the two runs so far apart, there 50hp apart.

The lower output graph is at the wheels, the higher output graph is at the flywheel. In this country we go by the flywheel power generally.

240bhp at just over 3.5k Nice, very nice.

nice graphs :)

Dd rollers usually very accurate but normally only 10% wheel losses and yours is showing nearer 20% losses. For a 300whp run I would usually expect 330 ish flywheel hp. :) still, nearly 300 whp is damn good!

Huh??

My losses are 15.15%. JKM say

"As our dyno is only 2 wheel drive we can only comment on 2 wheel drive vehicles but our own estimated transmission losses for a Front wheel drive vehicle on a conventional gearbox or VAG DSG gearbox is between 15-16% and rear wheel drive cars loose between 17%-18% - again on conventional manual gearboxes."

The stock RS3 must be down on power then, also the 700bhp supercharged VXR8 which constantly pulls just over 700bhp on Surrey RR. Mmmmm nice motor.
