Dnx520vbt from stream

Featured Replies

Hi all

Replaced my standard stream MP3 with a Kenwood dnx520vbt in my mk2 octy Vrs all went really well and I love the Kenwood unit it works great but sound just doesn't seem as good as the stream it seems to have lost treble. I used a quadlock adaptor but could it be the speakers wires are not in the correct places. I thought din plugs were standard and would match the the octavia plug (via quadlock). Any thoughts would be really appreciated

Have you played around with the sound settings? I have a similar kenwood in my ducatto van and it sounds pretty good with the, quite frankly, rubbish speakers Fiat decided were a good idea!

Mind you, I can't get the same sound from my Pioneer that I could from the Stream in my Mk2 Octy...

Hey

Cheers for reply had a play around with the settings and it's a lot better now but I still don't think it matches the stream but it sounds like you think the same.

I might be misunderstanding you or the stereo you've fitted but what was the quadlock adapter for?  I upgraded from a Stream MP3 to a Kenwood DNX520VBT and it was a straight upgrade, I didn't need any extra cables aside from what came with the stereo, is that what you're referring to?  I bought the Kenwood for the upgrade in audio and the USB capabilities, I thought it sounded better than the Stream and better than I was expecting as I thought the poor audio from the Stream was due to the poor speakers.

Hi

My kenwood only came with standard din connections. So I had to buy a quadlock to din adaptor.
