I seem to have a problem with the heating / air-con in my Octavia vRS (2009).  It's not felt right on the drivers side for some time and now I've deduced that even if it is set to provide the same temperature on both sides of the car, the drivers side footwell and far right side face level vents will be feeding cold air through even when the temp is set to (say) 23 yet the passenger side will be feeding an expected moderate temperature.

 

I'm assuming there are sensors in several place so the question I think I need an answer to is how many sensors and where are they.

Thank you Sllver; don't know how I missed all that in my search.  I take it that there are just the two sensors - so in my case it looks like I need to replace the driver's side one.

I've now replaced the driver side sensor (new one from Skoda so have to assume it is not faulty) and I still have the same problem - ie: unless the temperature is set to maximum I can only get cold air from the drivers' side vents.  Passenger side is fine.

 

So if the senor is ok, and the hot and cold air can be supplied it's as if it can't do a mix for some reason (ie: it's eithe all hot or all cold). 

 

Any other thoughts from anyone as to what else it could be.
