After 2 1/2 years and 48,804 miles (quite a few recent long distances) I have just moved over the 30 mpg mark average for the first time 30.033 to be exact.

 

My 2006 Audi A4 1.8T convertible with CVT only managed 27.4mpg in 66,000 miles under my 3 year tenure.

 

I cannot grumble at that and have been pleasantly surprised at the running costs of such a large engined car (forgetting the Road Fund License).

 

144 fill-ups, 1624,47 gallons of fuel, my analysis has shown that the car likes Shell fuel the best averaging 30.83.

 

It is going soon, to be replaced by a Yeti and I know I wil miss the effortless motorway cruising, but my driving habits are about to change as I look towards retirement.

Impressive indeed..... i very occasionally manage 30mpg on a long run; when i'm not is a hurry!

 

But 20mpg is more the norm for me!

Grrr, I want the 3.6 V6 (for the noise and quad exhausts alone) and 50 mpg at 70mph.

I'm not unhappy with my TSi, that's averaging 34+, but it's not used very much these days. 

 

If you decide to sell your V6 rather than trade it in, please let me know, it might make a nice replacement for my old V6 Mondy!

Im getting 34/36 on really sensible drives but that's a very very rare occasion! 29-32 is the norm for me....20-24 is when I'm running late for work!
