L&k DSG problem ongoing

Featured Replies

Still not fixed new mechatronic unit fitted, but this has not fixed problem, dealer now referred it back to Skoda technical.

In the mean time the dealers own demonstrator has developed the same fault when a customer was using it.

Has anybody else had problems with 6 speed DSG in L&K 4x4 estates?

Gasser, Thanks for that.

Any comment coming from the Master Tech at the dealer.

The unit will not program up so the new unit won't select gear, they are telling me the the mechatronic unit need to self learn!

And this is where they are and can't get passed this problem.

  Judder fault?

Gasser,

Hope that they  sort it soon for you but its not a confidence booster going forward.

Best of luck mate and keep us up to speed with progress.

Cheers.

Keith

Maybe a faulty "new part" ... I work in the motor trade, just because it is "new" it does not mean it is not "faulty" ;)

They may be overlooking this possibility and taking it for granted the new part is OK

Been there myself before!

I used to work in the parts side of dealers, and I think it is just peoples.technicians natural reaction that a "new" part cannot be faulty, "I have changed xyz already" so you look elsewhere when all along it is the "new" part that has the issue.. Thankfully this did not happen often, but it should NEVER be ruled out ;)

Gasser,

Any update?

Car still off road, dealer had no luck with new mechatronic unit, on road test it was randomly selecting gears.

dealer request a new gearbox to be supplied, this took a few days to get approval from Skoda Technical. It was authorised and an order was placked last week for a new DSG box. The gearbox is on back order could be upto 10 working day to source.

Have put nearly 3 k on hire car so far!

I will keep you updated

Hopefully sorted soon and then you can enjoy the Superb.

This is the other Thread from Gasser I mentioned .

Current status ,as best I know it from PM, is that New DSG fitted about a week ago, after Skoda Tech and Dealer Techs could not find the malfunction "Brown Trouser" EXPERIENCE fault.

May be he will feedback over the weekend ,relating to his new experience, after some miles this past week.

Car now back on the road and have completed around 1200 miles since new DSG fitted, all seems okay, although reverse doesn't seem as smooth as previous DSG box.

Will keep you updated over next few thousand miles

Good to hear that you are back on the road.
