Octy 2 HU removal

Featured Replies

I'm going to be fitting a dension ipod adapter to the stream stereo in my new Octy and need some advice on removing the head unit to get access to the connections. Will I require any special tools to slide the unit out or do I need to remove any trim etc to get at it?

I don't get the car until next week and it a job that I want to jump on straight away.

You'll find the info in here somewhere. I think you prise off the trims to the outer sides of the preset buttons and at the bottom of the facia. This reveals 4 torx screws which you remove to extract the unit.

First pull off the plastic panel surrounding the radio/aircon controls (open the ashtray and pull from underneath is easiest).

Then remove the four blanking panels as Johnnyc said. This reveals 4 Torx sxrews. pull out unit. Be careful when doing this as the aerial connector is not the traditional style and is very flimsy and easy to snap (replacement aerial is 20 quid)
